Trip to Comcast

Ben and I took a train ride down to my old office. He loved the ride and was mesmerized by the huge TV screen in the lobby.

Morris Arboretum

The three of us went to Morris Arboretum yesterday for a picnic to take advantage of the beautiful weather. We were one week early for the train display so we will DEFINITELY be going back soon!

Ben has been doing these adorable hand movements when he talks. Hard to tell, but he's telling a story about a snake that he sees at the top of this "nest" - which I think was just a big branch.

Ben loved running ahead of us.....because I don't walk too fast these days. :)

Water fountains are still a favorite.

Ben and Nick at the same water fountain last August. With a still picture, not too much has changed (Ben's taller and has more hair). However, if you had a video, the chatterbox is in full effect these days. I love listening to what he has to say!

Rainy day activity!

The beginning...

Of the demand for independence. Ben wanted to sit on the chair like a big boy rather than in his seat. We'll see how long he stays there!

Ben and the "Baby"

I have gotten a few cute videos of Ben and my belly over the past few months, but I'm not sure if I"ve posted any of them. This one is from yesterday. We are in a little bit of an awkward position as I'm laying on the floor and taking the video myself...but it does capture Ben interacting with the "baby."

Last Day of Gymboree

Yesterday was Ben's last day of Gymboree. My camera battery died quickly after getting there, but I continued to take pictures with my cell phone and some videos. I'll post the videos later, but here are the pictures....

Big Boy Room

Obviously, if you've been following the blog, you know we've had been's furniture for a little over a week now. However, here are the pictures showing his new room! I know it's pretty empty still as we are obviously trying to keep it that way until we get the napping under control. He's so proud of the room.

Potty Training Attempt

A week or two ago, we tried 2 days of full on potty training. It didn't work too well in the end, but at the beginning, we were having so much fun I took some pictures. It's just taken me a while to download them, so I'm a little behind.

Nap time?

Ashes, ashes, we all fall down!

Dear Ben, Insisting your mom get up and down off the floor for a repeated game of "Ring Around the Rosie" is not a form of exercise I'm looking to for at 7 + months pregnant.

Big boy bed day 3 (and night 4)

Day three resulted in no nap at all and a pretty unhappy Mommy. Therefore, no picture to share.

However, possibly due to exhaustion from not napping, night 4 resulted in Ben sleeping IN his bed, getting out ZERO times, within about 15 minutes. We won't celebrate until this becomes a norm, but thank you Ben!! Your parents are happy to have a relaxing evening. :)

Day two of big boy bed

Hopefully, he will realize how comfy his new bed is! Yesterday, we had no nap. This is today's nap. 2 hours and counting. I am not complaining!

Success!

After an incredibly long night last night and day today, Ben is asleep ALMOST in his big boy bed.

Just looked up at the park...

and this is what we saw. We have no idea how it happened, but Ben was leading Kate around the park by the hand. Wish the video was a little closer.....but hopefully you can see.

Neighborhood birthday party

Just thought he looked funny while entertaining himself with some of the toys at this little girl's birthday party on our street.

Can you believe they had pony rides right in front of our house? Ben didn't last too long on the pony. Not even for one step of the ride. He did much better just petting her. "Soft!" "Soft!"

Township Day

Our township has a "festival" every year at the park up the street. This year, Ben took full advantage of the blow up games, animals, emergency vehicles, etc.

First time for both of us in an ambulance! Not sure how we missed a picture of him in front of his favorite truck, the FIRE TRUCK!

Project "Ben's New Room"...

is well underway. The room is now painted and ready for furniture! Will post more pictures as the week goes on and we fill the room.
